Mixing up the Medicine are a blues/bluegrass/acoustic duo.

James Whelan plays guitar and harmonica and sings.
Richard Clay plays mandolin and guitar and sings.

"Mixing up the Medicine" play a lot of high-energy acoustic songs, with James' powerful voice, Richard's jazz/blues lead mandolin, and tight harmonies. In their full set they play their own songs, blues, and blue-grass classics. They inhabit that area where folk and blues meet country, and Dylan songs are a speciality.

They previously played together in the band "Mulberry Blue", and they both perform solo.
